Pre-paid Visa cards are often known as Virtual Visa Cards they can be used for mail, telephone (and online tranasctions, these are normally only available from a small percentage of banks.

These cards do not normally take the form of the traditional credit card, meaning that you will not always receive a small plastic card. These cards can be used where the logo of the merchant is advertised, the client deposits money into his or her account from their main bank account, this is a unique way of making transactions safer and ensuring the client does not overspend.

Such a card helps to prevents attempts at fraud, credit card theft has increased with the soaring popularity of the internet. The extra level of authorisation from the bank makes it extremely difficult for fraud to take place. An extra extra security measure is the dispatch of the CVV2 code, this is not located on the card but instead posted individually to the client in a secure envelope.
